September Artists of the Month named

The Slidell Art League announced its Artist of the Month honorees for the month of September.

In the apprentice category – Ester Wyman was awarded honorable mention for her untitled work in oil.

Third place went to Maris Leitz for her watercolor painting, “Caroline,” and Donna Kelly took second for her pastel work, “Deep Purple.” First place went to Candace Page for her untitled work in acrylic.

In the masters division – Matt Monahan won honorable mention for his wood carving, “Bless U Boys;” Mary Pat Landry took third for her watercolor “Jersey Shore;” and Pink Lagrange was awarded second for her pastel art, “Origin of a Star.” Lynda Donaldson won first place for her oil painting, “Monkey Business.”

In the Slidell Art League for Teens group – Esther Trosclair was recognized for her photograph titled “4th of July” along with her brother, Christopher Trosclair, for his work in pencil titled “Miriam.”

The Slidell Art League meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the historic Train Depot on Front Street.

The public is always welcome to attend.
