District 11

meeting today

The monthly meeting for Parish Council District 11 constituents will be held at 7 p.m. today in the library of the Bayou Woods Elementary School located off Carroll Road.

The following items will be discussed.

• Recent speed limit changes on Thompson Road and Bayou Liberty road.

• An ordinance extending the moratorium for six months on the receipt of submissions to the parish zoning and planning commissions for rezoning or re-subdivision of property, not previously applied for, located North of Interstate 12 and abutting or having access to Airport Road;

• An update of the status of Bayou Liberty Bridge;

• Property tax appeals to the assessor and/or the Parish Council Board of Review;

• The status of capital improvement projects in District 11; and

• Any other items of interest or concern for District 11 constituents.

Slidell District F Meeting Sept. 8

Slidell District F Councilman Jay Newcomb has called for a public meeting of his constitutents at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Slidell City Council Chambers 2045 Second St. Slidell. For questions, concerns and more information on the meeting call Councilman Newcomb at 646-4307.

Fire Board to vote on millage rate

The Board of Commissioners for Fire District One will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Fire District Training Academy meeting room, 34780 South Range Road in Camp Villere.

The board will be considering levying addition or increased millage rate or adopting an adjusted millage rate and rolling forward to a millage rate not to exceed the millage maximum of last year.
