Mandeville’s Savannah Perry went 3-for-4 with five runs batted in, while teammate Joanna Rochelle had two doubles and four RBIs, as the Lady Skippers edged the Slidell Lady Tigers 11-10 in a district game Thursday at SHS. Mandeville (7-4) moved to 2-0 in district, while Slidell (5-2) is 1-1.
Mandeville had an 11-6 lead through five innings, but Slidell scored four runs in the sixth. In the seventh, the Lady Tigers had runners on second and third with nobody out. MHS intentionally walked the bases loaded. Winning pitcher Gabby McDaniel came back and struck out the next three hitters to end the game.

Slidell’s Melody Carder went 3-for-5 with a homer, two singles and two runs batted in. Kalleigh Patrolia posted three hits, including a double, two singles and a pair of RBIs.
SSA tops Hammond
St. Scholastica Academy downed the Hammond Lady Tors 8-4 in district play Thursday at home. The Doves banged out 17 hits with
Kristen McDaniel (3-4) earning the victory. SSA evened its district record at 1-1.
McDaniel also had a good game at the plate going 3-4 with a double and scored a run.
Kristi Harrison went 2-4 and drove in three runs to help pace the Doves’ attack. Allison Dastugue went 3-4, scored two runs and stole four bases.
Alexandra Hontas also collected three hits in four at bats, scored a run and swiped four bases. Emily Serpas had two hits, scored two runs and stole two bases, while Amanda Krause produced two hits and stole three bases. Devin Hyver and Madeline Saucier both had a hit and drove in a run for the Doves. SSA tallied one run in each of the first three innings to take a 3-1 lead. The Doves tacked on two runs in the fourth and closed out with three runs in the fifth inning, while Hammond tallied single runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Hannan falls to Albany
Archbishop Hannan’s Lady Hawks dropped their first game of the season Thursday falling to Albany 2-0.
Hannan (7-1) was limited to three hits.
Dallas Hebert, Brooke Laigast and Kim Kirsch collected the hits.
Hannan’s Maddi Shelton (3-1) took the hard luck loss pitching a complete game allowing just one earned run on three hits.
Shelton registered 11 strikeouts, while hitting two batters, but she didn’t walk anyone.
Albany’s Hannah Gill won the pitching duel striking out 11 with three walks.
Hannan coach Becky Lambert said it was a well-played game, but her club made a couple mistakes.
Albany tallied both runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Hannan was able to work its way out of a bases loaded nobody jam in the sixth.
Fontainebleau routs Hammond
Fontainebleau ripped the Hammond Tornadoes 20-0 in three innings Wednesday at home to open district play after the game was rained out on Tuesday. FHS’ Kendyl Stevenson (3-1) picked up the victory tossing a no-hitter. Stevenson faced a total of 10 batters striking out seven, while issuing just one walk. Brittney Terral was the losing pitcher.
FHS torched Hammond with 15 runs in the bottom of the first batting through the order twice. Brooke Thomas, Kristin Koen, Megan Meyer, Jennifer Tuohy, Kayla Thomas and Stevenson all picked up two hits in the initial inning to spearhead the Lady Dawgs assault.
Fontainebleau tallied five more runs in the second with the game being called after the third inning.
