First-year head coach Larry Route said it was a tough night.
“We kind of struggled offensively. The flu bug hit us really hard during the week. On Wednesday, we were down to just eight offensive players. We had 35 players dress out for the jamboree, but five players were unable to participate,” Route said.

Lakeshore recovered two fumbles. Defensive end/wide receiver Mikal Mazik, a two-way performer for the Titans, caused a fumble and recovered it midway through the first half and Brandon Ducre pounced on a fumble with about three minutes to play.
With time running out, Titans’ quarterback Michael Ball completed a 25-yard pass to Jared Scott moving the ball near midfield. On the next play, Ball was pressured and was picked off. Franklinton was able to run out the clock to secure the 6-0 victory.
Route said although he was disappointed with the loss he felt his team played hard.
“Our players fought, but we didn’t execute offensively. I thought our defense played well. Hopefully, we can get some of our players back for practice this week,” Route added.
Route credited freshman defensive end Alaan LaBostrie with an outstanding game with two sacks and a caused fumble. Route said Mazik and middle linebacker Sean Wight had strong games.
Offensively, Al Damion Riles topped the Titans with 25 yards on six carries.
Route said his Titans are looking forward to playing their first-ever home game at Titans Stadium Friday night hosting Miller McCoy Academy out of New Orleans. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
