The competition was originally scheduled for Friday, but was moved back due to the weather.
First and second stringers from both teams got a lot of reps before the scrimmage concluded with a 15-minute quarter of running time. Each drive started on the offense’s 30-yard line for the entire scrimmage.

Parkview Baptist junior Brandon Burt made touchdown reception for about 55 yards.
But the defenses also shined as Slidell’s Kenyon Adams made an interception.
Slidell coach Artie Liuzza, entering his third year as the Tigers’ headman, said he was happy with his team’s effort and the way they handled being ready to play Friday and then having to wait a day.
“I think mentally, that sometimes can wear on a team, but I thought our team responded well today,” Liuzza said. “I thought under the conditions, we played pretty well, made mistakes like you’re going to do in a scrimmage, but I think they’re correctable.”
Meyer started for Slidell. Last year, Meyer took a break from football to concentrate on baseball.
“For the first couple series, it felt a little nervous,” Meyer said. “I overthrew a couple people, but as the game went on, I settled down and I was able to complete some passes.”
Meyer added he’s picked up a tremendous amount since coming back.
Liuzza said he thought Meyer played well and said Meyer did a good job of handling the pressure.
Slidell won the 15-minute period 12-0.
The Eagles got the ball first and took it down to Slidell’s 5-yard line. Facing fourth down, Parkview Baptist called timeout. The Eagles decided to go for it, but the Tigers’ defense was up to the task and the pass was incomplete.
After that, Slidell’s offense spent most of the final time on the field. On the second play of their initial offensive series the Tigers put the first points on the board. Meyer threw a short pass to C.J. Hampton, who did the rest, outrunning defenders on his way to the end zone for a 95-yard touchdown. On the play, Hampton got a great block from Alex Hill.
“The play wasn’t even supposed to be for me,” Hampton said. “It broke down and he (Meyer) checked off to my side and everybody did what they were supposed to do.”
Hampton said he was the second read on that play.
Parkview had the ball on its next possession for just one play as the Eagles completed a pass, but the Tigers’ defense forced and recovered a fumble Parkview’s 27.
Slidell’s offense was pushed back on the first play by a sack. Later in the series, the Tigers had a long fourth down situation, but Parkview was called for pass interference, which moved the ball to the 15. On first down, Meyer took the snap, couldn’t find anyone and scrambled up the middle and into the end zone. The PAT snap was bad, keeping it at 12-0.
SHS’ defense recovered another fumble with about two minutes left to complete the victory.
