FD 12 double taxation suits continue

Twenty-six property owners, including corporations and businesses, have filed suit against parish officials and St. Tammanyy Fire District 12 alleging the tax assessed on the properties for FD 12 is illegal and to change the validity of ad valorem tax and recover taxes paid. Named in the suit are ex officio tax collector for the parish Sheriff Jack Strain, Patricia Schwartz Core as St. Tammany Parish Assessor, the Louisiana Tax Commission and FD 12.
