The panels, about 10 in all leading to toll booth 2, are estimated to cost about $239,200 to replace. And once a bid is approved, construction could start and finish in three weeks, with an end target in March, Causeway general manager Robert Lambert said.
The estimated bid also includes the replacement of two “badly deteriorated” drainage pipes on the north and south end of the plaza.

“It’s the foundation that’s bad,” Lambert said. “It’s almost like a little river of sand in there and (engineers) have a solution to fix it this time.”
Mindful of a potential inconvenience to motorists, Lambert said repairs might span two or three weekends from Friday night to Monday morning and/or during the week during off- peak times.
All four lanes will remain open while work is performed.
In other Causeway news, new commissioners Pat Brister and Lawrence Rase, were approved as secretary and assistant secretary/ treasurer respectively.
