Olde Towne Alive Block party canceled

Due to the threat of high winds and heavy rainfall from the fringes of Hurricane Ike, the Olde Towne Alive Block Party to be held tonight has been cancelled.

However the Poetry Storm show is still scheduled to go on as planned tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Olde Towne Arts Center at 300 Robert St. in Slidell, The event will feature special guest Chris Champagne, the author of “Roach Opera.”

The Poetry Storm will feature an invitational exhibit featuring works from local artists called “Draw the Line: 3 Years Post-Katrina.”
