Beckstrom 100-meter backstroke Louisiana champion

Pelican Athletic Club’s year-round swimmers participated in the Louisiana State Long Course Championship held at the Sulphur Park and Recreation Aquatic Center July 17-20. Fourteen-year-old Thomas Beckstrom became a state champion, winning the 100-meter backstroke in record-breaking time. He also earned three second-place finishes.
