Davis plans on majoring in biomedical engineering. The daughter of Lucie and Bill Davis of Slidell, Davis said she found biotechnology fascinating and wants to participate in the growing field that uses biosciences to improve peoples’ lives.
She was impressed with Tulane, especially when a professor said that not only do engineers solve problems, they also come up with solutions to problems.

The presentation was made at the Foundation’s office in Mandeville.
In presenting the scholarship, Donahue told Davis, “You’re going to a great university and I wish you well.”
Davis is a National Merit Scholar and was accepted at a number of universities including LSU, Alabama, University of Virginia and New College, The Honor College of Florida. She is excited to be staying in New Orleans. She will be starting in August.
Criteria such as extra curricular activities, GPA, need plus an essay on why they wanted the scholarship were used to determine the scholarship recipient.
