The seat is being vacated by Judge Elaine W. DiMiceli, who is retiring.
“I will serve the communities of Washington and St. Tammany parishes with honesty and distinction, and I will dedicate myself to the continued quality of the 22nd Judicial District Court,” said Moore.

In addition to his litigation practice, Moore has been the Magistrate Judge for Covington Mayor’s Court since his appointment in 2003.
“In addition to my 15 years of civil practice, my experience in presiding over numerous criminal, traffic and civil matters in Mayor’s Court has helped prepare me for this important job,” Moore said.
A lifelong Republican, Moore is a two-time past president of the Greater Covington Bar Association and is a former hearing officer for the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board.
He is a graduate and class spokesperson for the Leadership St. Tammany Class of 2002, and in 2004 he chaired the Board of Trustees for Leadership St. Tammany. He was Covington City Attorney from 2003 to 2005 and has served in various offices for St. Peter Catholic Church and St. Peter School in Covington.
He currently sits on the School Board for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and in 2006 he was awarded the Order of St. Louis by Archbishop Alfred C. Hughes.
He is assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 160 in Covington.
Moore is married to the former Kelli Paige Stuart of Baton Rouge, and they have three children.
