CHS blanks SHS with McDaniel, Stanga Covington’s Lady Lions capped off their District 7-5A title with an exclamation point at home Saturday blanking the Slidell Lady Tigers, 4-0, behind senior catcher Meghan McDaniel’s two-run homer in the bottom of the first. It was McDaniel’s 10th homer of the year. She hit .632 in district with a team-high 24 runs batted in. Overall, McDaniel hit .506 on the season with a club high 39 RBIs.
