A nine-member committee will examine the Covington city charter and possibly rewrite it. Three members of the Covington City Council, including Trey Blackall, Matt Faust and Lee Alexius, will join six residents of the city in examining the charter and making recommendations.

Nine recommendations and applications for the citizen appointments were received, and the council voted Tuesday night to select six, Rod Rodrigue, Teddy Boone, Carl Perkins, Leslie Ackel, John Dubreuil and Donald Primes.

The committee members will vote on any recommended changes, but all meetings will be open to the public, and the public is invited to make any suggestions on changes to the present charter.

Times and dates of the meetings have not been scheduled.
